WHMIS 2015 - office

Applicable to all University of Ottawa employees, professors, volunteers, and students working for the University, WHMIS is the Canadian Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. All workplaces in Canada must provide WHMIS training to their employees. Policy 77 requires that every individual working for the University of Ottawa complete WHMIS training.

WHMIS training will enable individuals to:

  • Identify hazardous products,
  • Store and handle hazardous products properly, and
  • Understand how to obtain more information through safety data sheets (SDSs).

Training is online and will take approximately 1-hour to complete.
