Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA)

Many of us will encounter hazards as a normal function of doing our work.  How those hazards are managed is the difference between going home safely each afternoon or not.  It is also our responsibility under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.  The University of Ottawa's Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) seeks to provide a framework as well as the necessary tools for carrying out a Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA).  This workshop is aimed at introducing you to the HIRA process and ensuring your compliance with your health and safety repsonsibilities.
