Rédiger un résumé non-scientifique: un atelier de travail intensif /  Writing a compelling lay summary: a hands-on workshop

Avez-vous de la difficulté à vulgariser votre recherche? Savoir rédiger un résumé non scientifique dans un langage simple et concis est indispensable à toute demande de subvention financée. La plupart des organismes subventionnaires exigent un résumé non scientifique pour informer le grand public et les médias de la nature des projets de recherche financés.

L’objectif de cet atelier est d’explorer les techniques de rédaction et d’offrir des conseils pratiques et du coaching aux chercheuses et chercheurs. Durant cette session, les chercheuses et chercheurs travailleront leur propre résumé non scientifique afin de le rendre clair, efficace et accessible à un public plus vaste.

Exigences :

• Chaque participante et participant doit envoyer son résumé non scientifique sur lequel il ou elle veut travailler aux organisateurs deux jours avant l’atelier;
• Chaque participante et participant doit apporter un ordinateur portable à l’atelier; et
• Chaque participante et participant doit apporter une copie papier de son résumé non scientifique à l’atelier.

Do you struggle with translating your research into plain language? Writing a compelling and concise lay summary has become an essential part of successful grant applications. Most funding agencies require a lay summary to inform the public and media of the nature of funded research projects.

This workshop will explore writing techniques, and offer practical advice and coaching to researchers. During the session, researchers will work on their own lay summary to make it clear, effective and accessible to a wider audience.

Requirements:

• Each participant must send the lay summary they want to work on to the organizers two days prior to the workshop;
• Each participant must bring a laptop to the workshop; and
• Each participant must bring a paper copy of their lay summary to the workshop.
