Applying for your first studentship or post-doctoral fellowship award? This workshop is for you!
Anyone applying to agency or foundation that supports medical-related research (e.g. study of disease and possible therapeutics). For example students applying to Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Fonds de recherché en santé du Quebec (FRSQ), Autism Scholars Award, and Council of Ontario Universities Women Scholar award competitions would benefit from attending this workshop.
We will be covering the basic components of the research proposal as we all as working through developing your hypothesis, research aims and the going over key components that should be covered in all medical-related research grant applications. Attendees will also begin to construct a lay summary on their research project.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the components of a research proposal
- Develop a specific focused research question for their research proposal
- Formulate a precise hypothesis for their research proposal
- Write detailed aims for their research proposal
- Construct lay summary based on their research proposal
