Are you interested in working in the field of human rights and EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion)? If yes, welcome to our human library! Learn more about accessibility, prevention of sexual violence, prevention of harassment, discrimination, equity, diversity and more.

Spend time asking anything you’d like to ask of Human Rights and EDI professionals here at uOttawa. You can sign up to speak to as many professionals as you’d like, in group settings. This human library is a collaboration between the Library and the Human Rights Office.

Biography of Aristide Nononsi

Aristide Nononsi has more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of human rights, conflict resolution and the management of cooperation programs. He also has a doctorate in law, and two master’s degrees in political science and social law. Currently he works as the Advisor responsible for policy 130, Law and Responsible Student Conduct. Previously, Aristide was the Country Director of Lawyers without Borders (2018-2022), Expert Independent and Special Reporter for the United Nations on human rights in Sudan (2014-2020) and Director for the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (2012-2014). Aristide also taught at the Faculty of Law at McGill University and was Director of the Centre for Studies in Development also at McGill University (2007-2011). From 1999-2007, he was Manager at the African Development Bank and from 1993-1999 worked as a Civil Servant at the International Labor Office in Geneva.
