Writing effective job descriptions

Description

Description

THIS WORKSHOP IS AVAILABLE TO MANAGERS

The modern approach to writing a job description can be a challenge and understanding a position’s classification can sometimes be difficult. The objective of this workshop is to provide you with the necessary tools and main concepts that will help you during the job description writing process.

A well-written job description is much more than just a list of tasks. It clearly details the work performed by staff and sheds light on how the teams and organization work together to achieve efficiency. The description defines the role and purpose of a job, as well as places it in relation to other jobs within the organization.

Job descriptions serve as a foundation for recruitment, compensation and performance management programs
Job evaluation committees ensure equity in classification levels. When a job description is written in the accepted style, committees can perform their evaluations much more smoothly.
