Description

JHSC

This training is for new JHSC members at uOttawa to help them become familiar with their roles, responsibilities, and duties on the committee. The session provides an introduction to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, an overview of the committee’s structure and membership, and guidance on how they will contribute to health and safety on campus.

Key JHSC functions will be covered, including workplace inspections, investigations, reviewing health and safety programs, and making recommendations to reduce risks. This orientation will help participants feel prepared to actively participate in the committee and support uOttawa’s Internal Responsibility System (IRS).
