Description

Learn about campus emergency procedures, how you can prepare your classroom or lab for emergencies.

Emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere and often without warning. Keeping our campus safe is a shared responsibility, and ensuring we’re all as prepared as possible can make a difference.

  • Do you know what to do when an emergency occurs?
  • Do you know how to receive alerts about an emergency?
  • Do you know how to report an emergency?
  • Do you know any de-escalation tactics?

During this workshop, you will learn about campus emergency procedures, how you can prepare your classroom or lab for emergencies, as well as some useful de-escalation tactics that may help to calm certain situations.

Please complete the following self-guided course prior to our workshop: More Feet on the Ground - Recognize, Respond, Refer and Reflect. This course should take approximately 20 to 25 minutes to complete. It prepares you to support students who may be living with mental health concerns.

If you need help or have questions regarding campus emergencies, the Emergency Management team is available to assist you.
