Biography of Carole Bourque

While captivated by psychology, after having completed a BA in psychology, I pursued studies in social work (BSW and MSW) so that I could effect change in the systems and structures that contribute to inequity and suffering. I’m also trained as an adult educator, in dialogue education, by Global Learning Partners whose vision is a world in which “deep learning drives our collective well-being”. Prior to my current role as Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, I have worked in international development, community engagement, international refugee resettlement and have supported community groups across Canada and overseas striving for social change. The first decade of my career was dedicated primarily to realizing the full participation into society of neurodivergent people. I am a proud TBI (traumatic brain injury) warrior. I am deeply fascinated with the systems of life and society and this fascination drives me in my personal life to study yoga and holistic nutrition, to interact with nature and gardens, and to spend time singing and dancing in community.
