Biography of Marie-Claude Gagnon

I help develop and implement accessibility processes, policies and procedures for the University of Ottawa. I also served on a legislative committee to help draft a new accessibility standard in Ontario. I sat on the Provincial Governance and Leadership group to develop an accessibility certification process for Ontario. I ran a nationwide online community on accessible education. I was invited to discuss strategies about accessible education with international delegates. I sometimes do lectures and mentor students in STEM.

I have two degrees, but always struggled learning maths. I was afraid it would limit my career choices. I was a sailor. I was a stay-at-home mom. I worked for a multinational, a small business, a museum, few NGOs and the Canadian armed forces. I was a public servant. I worked with consulates and ambassadors. My career path is far from linear, yet all these experiences are connected and led me to where I am today.
