Course description:

Development of critical listening and speaking abilities. Focus on listening strategies and skills in context-reduced speech with varied delivery rates and text types. Systematic exposure to a variety of registers and accents. Practice in understanding the language of meetings and assemblies and note-taking. Development of skills for fluent and accurate oral language use in a wide range of university workplace situations including conversation management and self-monitoring skills. Refinement of vocabulary and grammar use, and pronunciation skills.
