Intercultural Communication
Description
Description
- uOttawa, support personnel in administrative and academic advising roles are accustomed to providing services to individuals from a vast range of socio-cultural backgrounds and experiences. Systemic institutional, historic and sociological factors can make these interactions complex. This workshop offers support personnel the chance to work with some simple thought tools to analyse their day to day experience navigating these complexities to build shared understanding, connection and self confidence. The session will be offered in English and participants will be free to express themselves in the language of their choice.
- Retired from the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2017, Rex Fyles draws on years of experience facilitating peer based experiential learning for greater inclusivity in diverse organizational and cultural contexts.
