Worker Health and Safety Awareness

Description

Description

Mandatory

Orientation (sometimes called an introduction) is the process of familiarizing new, inexperienced and transferred workers with their organization, supervisors, co-workers, work areas and responsibilities, and sometimes with health and safety concerns in general. Providing training and extra assistance during the initial period of employment is critical, regardless of employees’ age, as they are not familiar with the job or the workplace. During this phase, employees develop the knowledge and skills that are necessary to work in a safe and healthy manner. While training (including refresher training) is always important, it should certainly be provided when employees are unfamiliar with the work area.
