This training is offered to staff who handle Personal Health Information.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Gain awareness of what is considered Personal Health Information and who has the right to collect, use, disclose and dispose of Personal Health Information.​
  2. Protect the confidentiality of the information and the privacy of individuals: your general responsibilities and contractual obligations.
  3. Ensure that you understand the elements of consent, the different types of consent, and when it is authorized to collect, use, and disclose Personal Health Information. ​
  4. Handle requests for access, correction, lockbox and withdrawal of consent.​
  5. Handle a privacy breach
